Key Sailing Theory Training
Onboard Yacht Spook we are delighted to offer a series of 4 day (usually Wed - Sat) Sailing Theory courses designed to build your confidence and knowledge as a highly Capable Skipper.
Conducted aboard our spacious 53 foot Yacht and tailored for small groups of 3 or 4 guests these sessions offer a very comprehensive but fun introduction to the basics of seamanship theory.
They provide all the knowledge one needs to feel comfortable on a day skipper, or coastal skipper practical course or whilst sitting an ICC assessment. which is the ideal qualification for a Flotilla Holiday Skipper.
The Skipper training includes sessions on:
Nautical Terminology (Sail, Yacht and Environment)
Tidal Curves, Streams and Considerations.
Charts, Buoyage and key navigation skills.
Passage planning, Pilotage and rolling roads.
Collision Regulations.
Weather and Surface Pressure Charts.
Along with the use of Electronics, Safety on a boat & Identifying key vessels and landmarks (such as a lighthouse in the dark)
These courses cost Just £399 per person and include:
4 or 5 nights accommodation aboard,
Breakfast, lunch & snacks every day,
Along with Tea, Coffee, Water and soft drinks.
They are great fun sessions for a super, low season, break aboard a beautiful sailing yacht and an excellent way to gain a more detailed insight into the theory behind the practical side of Yachting.
